National nostalgia for Netaji

23rd January we celebrate our beloved Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary. It is an opportune moment to think over his legacies he left n dreams he saw for us. On teleological ground his freedom struggle might have been sidelined by Gandhians but his contributions were no less than any of his contemporaries. Today the fight to appropriate his legacy is well reflected. Even  the pursuit of truth about Bose by declassifying his papers is to vindicate political mileage. A long week ll run by highlighting some "congressian conspiracy" against Bose. My contention is -does such sort of "character chauvinism" have any rationality when we fight over his birth place or  make any comparison to disparage other equally towering figure? Yes, we can settle by saying it creates an intangible consciousness among   our effervescing youths. I think the political war is changing turf every coming days in terms of showcasing/pursuing  various identities.  Though primordial identities like caste, religion  have perpetual prominence, the milking of historical character is new development which is well vanguarded by nationalists to masquerade its pseudo postures. Anyway let  them garner such untapped areas in the era of political entrepreneurship after all we  are too tacitly approving it and we can't  just escape intellectually masturbating at fringe. Yes, we can be awed by Bose ICS success then wen he had to pass compulsory Latin like papers. He scored the highest mark in English paper defying all myths n I make excuse of inability to enunciate English word starting with "W". He too were in a sense Bihari( undivided Bengal).Aahh!! I too plunged into same political water 🏄 😄😀.
