Is it arrival of a radical feminism voice in our daily life? One of my library friend Rajesh, an AP guy, just sat on a seat empty for last 4hrs on which a girl used to sit. She came all of sudden n asked to vacate but my friend resisted. Their argument goes like-- Girl- plz vacate seat I have been sitting here since last 10days, Rajesh-- no , I cannot, I have been in this library since last 4 months n no such rule...G- if u don't vacate, I ll not let u study, B- do whatever u can I ll nt leave, G- k den I ll make noise n won't let any one study because of u, All -oye, plz argue outside; both left n the girl joined by her another friend girl only....again argument ensued....Gs - dude, how can u talk like this with girls when you are preparing for upsc....B- kahe ka dude, how did i become dude for u...G- I mean u must give us seat out.....thus argument kept on running for half an hour....finally my friend succumbs to these feminists....aren't u affraid to get such girls in life who ll raise human right issues when asking for a glass of water..😀😀

2nd October- A National Birthday to be celebrated
Happy Birthday to our beloved Shashtriji, a tall figure brought country out of hunger by green revolution, hailed jawan for 1965 victory n smoothly transferred Nehruvian consensus to his successor. A man far taller than his height was courageous, bold, perhaps present Indo-Pak tension earnestly reminds his legacy. His short but sturdy stint will be remembered for ages in Indian political history.
It would be injustice to Gandhian legacy , if he is not written on his birthday. Perhaps he is one of the most talked or written about in the human history. That's why he fits in all 'ism'. There is hardly any area untouched of him. His work, philosophy and idea are so much overpowering, visionary n inclusive that he would be relevant for ages to come. Today's mantras/buzzwords as sarvodaya, bottom up, decentralization, unto the last, Swaraj, Suraj n even Ramrajya(thanks to present govt😀) , all are so much relevant that the present age is being touted as "Revisit of Gandhian era". Perhaps he is only historical figure equally embraced by all ideological wings despite if and buts in his legacy. We say Hindu is a religion having attributes of all, Gandhi as an idea too seem to be permeating all ideologies. Yes, he too had a corner of darkness as various contemporaries point out. Dr Ambedkar found him violating his Varna/jati dharma, being vaishya, he must be following it. But, wasn't he social or politics or ideological entrepreneur? He bequeathed so vast socio-political n ideological legacy , may be not very much tangible but immensely intangible. Today we do find his image on Indian currency as mark of respect but what would be better tribute to a man coming from Bania clan albeit he would have never approved for so. Marxist M.N.Roy accused him of running most of the time in viceroy corridor for appointment. But, who can demean the historical importance of his Irwin talk. British was so frightened , envied n disgruntled of this 'naked fakir draped in lion clothe' that on reporting about severity of Bengal famine by his official Winston Charchil sarcastically wondered why dint Gandhi die despite so sever famine. An insensitive n cruel remark! Oho! I forgot about whom I am talking , almost repetition of my school days assignment of changing a negative sentence to assertive one, "who doesn't know Gandhi"? (answer used to be "everyone knows Gandhi"). I wonder anyone would be cutting cake on Gandhiji's birthday , I can't, 2 days before I had.😀 One of my dearest friend, an Ambedkarite by heart had it once on 14th April in ORN. 😀 . Lastly, today's is " non violence" day what a feat left by Gandhiji , a most needed idea of today's world. ranu fatty

February 1st:Guarding our coasts
We indian celebrate today, 1st February, Indian coast guard day. It is to recognize n relish the littoral importance we give. For decades we have been obsessed with territorial engagement n hence a neglect to maritime n sea power. Now wen turf of competition is shifting towards waters we are bound to recall Afred T. Mahan who emphasized on sea power n spykesman's rimland theory to muster our prowess. Shankkar Aiyar in his "Accidental India" indicates india's peculiar trait of responding crisis to lay institutions like NIA after26/11, 1991 reform after BOP crisis, GR after mid 1960s drought n now MAUSAM project in response of Chinese OBOR. Hitherto neglected Maritimes security despite Indian ocean being named on India n her high stakes, Chinese is perhaps dragging her into water that is why she is gearing up for cooperation in various exercises Malabar, Ausidex etc. US is trying hard to make India an integral partner in its Asia pivot to contain china. Offensive realist Bharat karnad, a senior fellow at centre for policy research, in his book " why is India not a superpower (yet)" prescribes to flex her muscle in cooperation with Japan(hitherto a pacifist owing to compulsion of art 9 of its constitution n now seeking desperately a partner in south/east china seas), Aussies ,US to make security quadrilateral. He further appeals India to go for indian version of " Monroe doctrine" to increase n safeguard her sphere of influence. Midst all such development her naval n coastal power is central. Its opportune time to overhaul coastal security n orient it for all round devt. Wen china is at its peak of "cartographic aggression" India must be in full preparedness to thwart any hostile development in her waters. C. Rajamohan aptly puts world understands more "argument of power than power of arguments".
Is Santa becoming walking God of our children?
Guys, Santa Claus 🎅 has integrated so much in present gen kids' life that they are being told various stories like Santa came at night in dream,on top floor having bags of chocolates 🍫 n many more fairy tales.....no one tells them story of sundar kand, Baal kand, yudh kand .....nationalists putting hard to replace X-mas tree by tulsi tree...dont u think our toddlers r overwhelmed by mushrooming convent culture of schooling....of course no debate over goodness of pub-school....BTW HAPPY GOOD GOVERNANCE DAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 TO PM VAJPAYEEJI, N HAPPY CHRISTMAS...🎄🎄🎄 sonty is great
Changing cinematic convass- A reflection
As u grow ur reel heroes also change. I remember in late 90s n early millennium my heroes used to be suniel Shetty, Ajay devgan, Akshay Kumar like action heroes who used to beat villains without getting hurt...i never liked verbose nana patekar, calibrated dialogue articulation of Raaj kumar, boring babuji aloknath, funny wit of paresh rawal, timid Prem or raja Hindustani or confused raaj..kkkk...kirrrannn...now we hardly find any action movie in which khans r beaten by goons....earlier villain used to have equal share in fights like shakti Kapoor...now movies are mostly dominated by political goons who ll not fight physically even a single bit....now our preferences r those un which there r dialogue deliveries of saudagar or last moment of krantiveer nana. Romantic movies do attract but mostly sound qutiyaap(pardon not my words😄)...issues based movies do attract but now ur more incisive understanding than bollywood writers(of course bookish one)....😄
INC- A Political party loosing its legacy
28/12.2015
An institution some called safety valve another conducting wire some accused it brahminical coterie...today it is the oldest premier party in world who once steered one of the most protracted freedom struggle ever in history...scions misappropriated the legacy, it became a political firm to be invested to have political equity our nation ....though it has visible subaltern orientation, it prospered on indian miseries. Someone aptly recognized its "z" call -we indian are poor and congress shall help further it. Its good now hegemonic heft is duly dented thanks to Nehru scions' naiveté and feudal sycophancy. It's been historically self evident psuedo- nationalists feel such political gap. Today we must pay our deepest tribute to Congress as an institution on its 130th anniversary...

East India Company- A ghost
Exactly 415 yrs ago few white skinned fellows came with suitcase calling themselves representative of East India company to do business in India. Then we Indian couldn't understand their "Mercantilist Mansa". The mantra of indianness atithi devo bhavah and vasudhaiv kutumbkam proved death knell. Today we are emboldened and eager to embrace FDI. So, unless we are strong 💪 from inside to absorb externalities, any "dariyadil" makes us vulnerable. 😄
January1st-A usual Pledge
I used to take 1st January very seriously during my school days having the beliefs that if I do some good work then I ll be doing it whole year. So, I used to have a lot of self- restraints on many things😄☺..., used to wake up early in morning, proper bath 🛀 n do pooja informally , study for good amount in hope I ll do it automatically throughout year., even used to hav resolution...as time passed, reached college, came out of this Maya moh, my mechanical study made me culturally mechanical as well but now I realize even those beliefs had merit which I miss....ignorance is really bliss....I feel with little bit knowledge people start to rationalize n glorifies or defends one's act but in the process one turns to atheist harming existing culture without paving way for enrichment of culture......
Incorrigible Accent
22/01/2016 today I asked a shopkeeper a "water" bottle, he gave me amul "butter"...now I m convince I m incorrigible in accent."W" humse na ho payega....perhaps ye bihari Vihar me " V" na bol pate honge that's why Bihar in stead of vihar....in college already I was embarrassed in 1st year seminar wen i was explaining "wave" mechanism - transverse n longitudinal n classmates were encouraging me by clapping me heavily for "BABE" mechanism....oh enuf...I wud be pronunciating Bife for wife, bitch for witch(chalo meaning closer hai😄)..n thanks god there is no word "woob".. N I may be mistaken of "bedding" for wedding...aah!!! enuf trouble...save me guys..
Is Feminist tone rightly set or being hindered from within?
Political commentators Rudoulph & Rudoulph talks abt increasing case of "modernization of tradition n traditionalization of modernity". So, its a case of sheer exploitation of culture to attune as per an individual's convenience n meet one's egoistic end or to be in power to extract sadistic pleasure. Women who support subjugation of women do so not only because they are entrenched with patriarchal mindsets but also they benefit personally (saas bhi kabhi bahu thi type or we abhore ragging in 1st yr but rationalize ot in 2nd yr). So, women who r in power either by age or by caste- Brahmin women or upper class- want to preserve subjugation of women as a class in general. Feminists do advocate for women in total but they are suspected for being radical n self-obsessed n hence highjacking debates at least in India where there is need of smooth transition. Feminist Betty Friedan in her "The Feminine Mystique" says women editors of various women centric magazine are mostly responsible for portraying them as sexual idols n commodifying. They talk about happy women enjoying marital lives in luxury at husbands` earning n how a working women struggling to balance work & home. In case of India though feminist voices have come up from upper class well read section but their pursuits have been mostly academic. Also, focus is on mostly civil political rights n now economic rights but social cleavages have been seen through sacrosanctric lenses ,so no ground level change. Compassionately, Vandana Shiva compares Women with the plight of our earth Vis a Vis all way exploitation but such simile indicates only notion of "tragedy of commons" of our fair sexes.....
*Brahmin women is not to malign any caste but to indicate an elitist mindset and this mindset can be in every caste or class
*sacrosanctric lense...(manufactured word by me, may be wrong but an attempt to make portmanteau)

National nostalgia for Netaji
23rd January we celebrate our beloved Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary. It is an opportune moment to think over his legacies he left n dreams he saw for us. On teleological ground his freedom struggle might have been sidelined by Gandhians but his contributions were no less than any of his contemporaries. Today the fight to appropriate his legacy is well reflected. Even the pursuit of truth about Bose by declassifying his papers is to vindicate political mileage. A long week ll run by highlighting some "congressian conspiracy" against Bose. My contention is -does such sort of "character chauvinism" have any rationality when we fight over his birth place or make any comparison to disparage other equally towering figure? Yes, we can settle by saying it creates an intangible consciousness among our effervescing youths. I think the political war is changing turf every coming days in terms of showcasing/pursuing various identities. Though primordial identities like caste, religion have perpetual prominence, the milking of historical character is new development which is well vanguarded by nationalists to masquerade its pseudo postures. Anyway let them garner such untapped areas in the era of political entrepreneurship after all we are too tacitly approving it and we can't just escape intellectually masturbating at fringe. Yes, we can be awed by Bose ICS success then wen he had to pass compulsory Latin like papers. He scored the highest mark in English paper defying all myths n I make excuse of inability to enunciate English word starting with "W". He too were in a sense Bihari( undivided Bengal).Aahh!! I too plunged into same political water 🏄 😄😀.
MGNREGA: A Decadal journey
Today ,on 2nd february,2016 ,MGNREGA completes a decade, a masterstroke of UPA's political economy which was pivot to give it the second term. It is said mgnega is not only a scheme but also an idea to spur all round development ecology at grassroot. It is to give right based entitlement of availing work and people centric infra-devt. Ppl did have benefited to much extent but real outcome is really to expose the state which has found an euphemistic way to further the leakage from state exchequer. Accountability has been tardy, corruption entrenched at every step n local govt has found it as kamdhenu bout to misappropriate perpetually. Asset construction has been tantamount to digging n filling pits in absence of pragmatic policy formulation for any project. If things would not be corrected by mgnrega2.0 tweaking it rightly, it would be a missed opportunity to realize democratic decentralization from devt perspective. Putting the last first as Robert Putnam emphasizes in his social capital theorization would be a missed one if mgnrega would be let entwined in bureaucratic labyrinth. Such initiative one of the largest social programs in the world would be just an indian gimmick which tries to negotiate hard on the name of its poor populace. Further it wud be a missed opportunity if it not be well embedded in democratic devt administration which political economist vincet ostrom argues for bottom up devt approach. Let mgnrega be organically evolved n become a philosophy of grassrot devt ethos rather eclipse it in political shadow. NDA must continue with new vigor n address some of flimsy accusation of distorting wage n labour force. We need more such devt ecology rather less. Yes targeted, well articulated plan, skilling durable asset creation addressing local needs shuld be focus m similar ideas even in urban areas too be put. India is nt fully prepared to go on Adam smithian line largely determined by market. A compassionate care to large section is still needed, yes nanny approach should be dispensed with adopting best practices of mkt/ Pvt...

Metamorphosizing social hierarchy
As our
society advanced we mostly recognized triumph of capitalism, so, greater
recognition of money or if education then money creating education , mostly
unconcerned with values, morale, ethics n glorified punditgiri... Secondly, in
modern age whatever u learn that must result into employment... That is why
perhaps charm of scientist, researcher, teacher r loosing n MBA/broker like
career is flourishing.....further with rise of Dalit entrepreneurs or backward
classes doing well in business recruiting upper one in their enterprises r
working as leveller in society...so, everything boils down to money....even
Brahmins who used to be having monopoly on human wisdom is also doing MBA to
manage the temple enterprise rather lecturing society about good human
values....the purohit who charges high for family ceremony commands higher
respect than others .....further, even knowledge has turned into "
knowledge economy" so, no meaning of knowledge/ education in
isolation.....gone r days when ppl had pursued whole life to reach personal
knowledge pursuit n known for being "vidwaan" like Bharti or kalidas
or Mandan Mishra whose parrot had learned all Vedas ......so, employment does
cause better equalizer.....yes, one good
development is increasing dimension of education from sports to acting to
technology to spiritual capitalism of babagir/ maa Giri......
history is always interpreted in different ways as per authour own preferences, biasness, backgrounds except facts...n even facts are put to serve one's interest...it's true orthodox Brahmins had been doing so to continue the grip on indian society, so I found all above facts not as an exaggeration...we still can feel how brahmincal mindset is there - caste violence, untouchability, temple as business, priest only Brahmin no other caste, no open competition for post in all famous temples, mosques only hereditary, Brahmins r mostly secretary, stronghold in armed forces, drdo, isro.... They resist any change as pt Nehru was himself against Hindu reform bill...Brahmanvaad has now become stronger not comprising only Brahmins but all upper caste seeing rise of Bahujan n backwards ...RSS is the last organization to create brahmincal dominance as we see cow 🐮 protection as tactics because they have created this holy animal to serve their ends....During Mughal or sultanate Brahmins were not troubled much as those empires were themselves fuedal, non-scientific, orthodox so Brahmin values n dictates were kept intacted. British was scientific, liberal, modern, capitalist so to serve it's end it had to make an open society for fair business as industrial revolution happened after enlightenment n reformation. But later British too followed divide n rule seeing power of each section- upper, lower, Hindu Muslim.. One important thing- as British were liberal, believer in democracy so recognized the importance of number which lower classes had so on the name of doing good to all they did so much reform to earn legitimacy/sincerity in their own eyes n among Europeans (all were colonizer but wanted to show each other that I was doing business or rule more ethically thats why Whiteman burden etc)... However we must recognize most of reformers from rammohan Roy to vidysagar to later Nehru n most of constitution makers were from bramincal wings. Some were self enlightened, another were guided by British n another were in hurry to replace British to continue rule. So nobody knows real intention of anyone. Historians speculate, connect n infer as per their own convenience, ideologies. We mostly read Bipin Chandra history, himself Marxist ideologue or Ncert one guided by congress government n now may be moulded by RSS as rewriting of history is in talk. Even there are subaltern historians who mostly find congress as a party comprising Brahmins who wanted politics reform not social reforms. So we have to use our conscience n read multiple views to understand true nature of any section.

Media- An evaluation
The quality of contents a publishing house does
decides its ethics, journalistic ethos it carries. It's true in the era of
freedom of speech one can publish anything unless it creates overt nuisance but
what about responsible journalism when media try hards of to be called fourth
pillar of democracy. Yesterday I reluctantly picked a copy of the TOI, the world's largest read English daily. I was
depressed to see choice of its news items on front page. It was full of sensational
crime news, rape, infidelity, dacoity n national- international issues in
either margin or small box. I m not trying to glorify other serious newspaper
or put any hearsay but try to highlight an anecdote of Shashi Tharoor, a
prolific writer since his childhood as he said in a talk show. He told how his
father wanted him to publish his articles in The TOI if he wanted to prove
literary prowess. Now Tharoor says his father would like to see me to write in
any newspaper but TOI. Perhaps the commercial success of it pushed Bennett
Coleman to be morally degraded. I hardly see in any leading dailies mentioning
recklessly on its e-paper about Bollywood gossips, steps to satisfy partners n
similar n number of eye catching flashy items to force u stop. Such items too
have values in one or other ways but it`s my opinion to not degrade its level
which it commanded once as Tharoor father's account of 70s. Why I feel
frustrated because whenever I go to read newspaper online I hardly move beyond
TOI trap...😄😃 m I a hypocrite...enjoying but disparaging ....😄😃
Marriage- disentangling its layers
Most of our friends are getting
married 💑. Now a days
marriage word intimidates me because of underpinned responsibilities come up
with it. You loose your 'negative freedom' but
yes dimension of 'positive freedom' increases in terms of familial
duties which help increase bigger responsibilities u once desired to take.
We, in indian society, take marriage as a very sacrosanct institution because of trust we pose in it. It opens a new vista to let you feel true human in terms of running a family as an institution, a microcosm of bigger institution like state.
Marriage is such a used/ misused word since our childhood that in every second instance we invoke it, like I ll marry u with that jumbo lady or that nose blowing fellow if u ll not comply me. Such instances we heard/faced since our childhood but as we grew , we became conscious about this. I think we, in general. as a conservative(our uniqueness) indian society always keep marriage at the highest pedestal n that is why we are quite possessive about our preferences. It is another matter our preferences also change as we develop n get broader picture of humanity/society.
However, common observation I make. whenever we fall in love, we think about marriage but we forget that our communitarian Indian values see marriage not an individual act. Its multi layered process which culminates when each stakeholder too gets wedded with corresponding one. Chetan Bhagat in his "Two States" righty writes in India boy likes girl n vice-versa, boy's family likes girl's family n vice-versa, then there takes place a consensus based, sustainable n democratic marriage 💑.
Yes, it is ensured that entire process be imbued with love, mutual respect n innumerable traditional ceremonial steps. Nevertheless, there have been many degenerations n hence, a lot of undesirable development to trivialize marriage as a sacred institution.
However, good development is in terms of mutiple permutation n combination of mechanisms like love cum arrange, arrange cum love, only arrange, only love, inter/intra caste, religion, ethnicity, race, linguistic, then hetro/homo, celibacy, divorce decision to be alone at later stage of life. Despite such developments no one can escape the marriage n in fact we as an "adult in shaping" always keep on dreaming consciously or subconsciously about it. I wonder what would be going in one's mind who is about to make. I recall ,in childhood, I was quite shy( n still I am) n used to think how will I perform all ceremonies before everyone, ye mujhse na ho payega sort. Now when I see my friends are doing easily, I feel I too can( media v bula lunga😄)... Anyway, even without feeling the moment I can sense that couple in making would have a lot of dreams to live lives ahead very beautifully.

An Experience of Subject change in civil services
Personal
experience of subject change--- I started psir 1st week of may n took it
because of 1.sheer interest 2. Public admin background a good convergence 3. A
good, reliable, solid, dependable notes of subhra mam...i recall I spent around
60% n even upto 70% time on option from may to mid Dec...so, it was really very
demanding n even swing of mood in between abt I shuld have continued pub ad or
better geography... N it really took space of gs prep or essay writing I
desired to write....only thing was interest which kept me on toe n a crash
course of mam filled the gap of self study....so, self-belief is
important...marking should not be only
reason of temptation...i see on forumias geography result is not as per last yr
as it was even visible in our friend circle....but I believe only ur
calculation will work in terms of ur decision, self-belief is important, people
r clearing in maiden attempt in ny optional, last tym geog mark was 300+ n
average very high...n this year pub ad was easier than all years in recent
4-5yrs....n last tym pub ad1 the most difficult even solving 170+ was
impossible in good sense but ppl got 170marks in Absolute term in this
paper....so a lot of uncertainties but self-belief/confidence I chosen subject
with a reasonable calculation ll work...i discussed yesterday with amrita abt
her zoology option it seems to be good decision but she knows better about her
interest n mark fetching capability of the subject....
28th Feburary- Celebrating National Science Day
today
28th February is the national science
day, a day to mark C V RAMAN's birth anniversary. It goes without saying that
science has given us a lot of comfort in terms of technological inventions.
However, the very "idea of science" serves a lot of purposes when
there comes to invoke rationality, logical, analytical, systematic thinking. It
has helped simplify the world in terms of bringing homogeneity and
predictability to ensure order.
Even Political ideology recognized its importance n hence political science or in general social science. Nevertheless, it has never ignored the probabilistic notion as we can see from the dichotomy of "facts n values ". Such notion is not confined to humanities or social studies but also in pure science as well, as we can see the "Heisenberg's uncertainty principle" or "De Broglie's dual nature of light as wave n particle". So, such dualism is well accepted in every walk as Gandhiji said science without humanity is sin.
A similar analogy of human being where man is fact/science n woman is value/humane(humanity). Even when we hypothesize of a scientific principle we go for a lot of assumptions which is about reducing the value character to put a simple picture which in turn help govern many events satisficingly. A such simplistic approach quenches our thrusts.
Similarly, science n mysticism(unverified faiths or religions) are two sides of same coins. As we advance with our findings in verifiable terms , we create more space for science squeezing space of mysticism. It seems a natural order however the mysticism is infinite, so no end of faiths but need is to take faiths in right spirit to serve humanity even though some of its claims are yet to be verified.
Scientific temper is a right inculcation to make humanity more objective i.e. to uphold it at any cost even though faiths are to be compromised as today's faiths may be tomorrow's simple scientific principles or laws, nothing irrationally sacrosanct.
Inhumanely examined
Very
disgusting scene...feeling disturbed seeing this inhumane treatment....in mppsc
we had similar experience in terms of putting off our shoes n walking into
classroom barefoot....we talk about technology n still clueless to stop
cheating...such act of army recruitment shows how much insensitivity they can
go for... We Bihari poor r perhaps destined to seek government job n such
feudal army mindset treat ppl like animal even in 21st century...i know ppl r
there too to color such acts as a disciplining one but I find it very
inhumane....why cant they use technology or else mechanism to catch
culprit....before one getting inducted in army the civilian character should
not be sacrificed....we do respect a lot for our brave men's sacrifices for the
country....it's also true that the epic 10th board cheating pic of last year
pushed army to do so for which govt n society r responsible but such act of
bare bodily examination shows hopelessness of the system n I see it ll further
damage image of Bihar irreparably.....world ll mock us, scepticism ll seep
further in ppl mind....
A Friend's anxiety on her marriage
Reading between lines of Amrita, yesterday she
talked about her nervousness, I too find very daunting to imagine a case where
one is married 💑 physically far off one's family. I recall
village marriages when brides used to cry bitterly while being seen off. The
saying "doli" n "arthi" to be taken off from parents n
in-laws homes respectively were under cultural norms. Girls used to be reinforced with this
idea since early childhood so that there would be smooth
transition.....
sometimes, when I think very silently about all these, I feel very empathetic about my sisters/cousins/friends...Is it natural order or cultural construct of convenience where women are born to be at receiving ends....Now, thanks to technology for breaking the physical barriers n giving some solace to emotional needs....
Very soon we all ll be married n there would be changed responsibility. We ll have more positive freedom n decreased negative freedom. I remember when we are quite young , we fantasize to be married; but as we grow, we feel scared to loose freedom. Recently married one of the very close friend of mine was literally crying 😢 on phone making me too cry as well. I consoled him, talked him very philosophically showing bigger picture of life n expected responsibility for family, society n nation, but I ,myself, was not very much convinced. Reality is, I too feel intimidated to go for so.
The UPSC preparation has theoretically made us understand all worldly reality but practicality is yet to be explored. We know that time n "horse ride" wait for none. It is 'go of life' n we must ride very enthusiastically... Here , scope of repeated attempts like in UPSC is not available, even casual attempt can't be taken to understand the nature of married life....life partnership is made in heaven, we have to play our parts.....
For dear Amrita, today is "Second March" in true sense, she is to start afresh a new life filled with aspirations, ambitions, dreams, off course, many old prime dreams in pipeline to be fulfilled. I am confident she ll achieve all successes. We learnt a lot from you in last 1 n half years , u inspired us to work hard n be honest in effort, ur disciplined way of life inspired me to emulate u n I hope u ll keep on doing so...
I see a true woman empowerment in you...i wish every indian woman be fortunate n capable to make her choice n follow her dream even after marriage......wishing all the best from core of my heart to both of u...n congratulation for a new step in forthcoming life.....i take ur "nuptial knot" a sacred step to bring North - South indian culture closer........😄😃

21st April: Civil Services Day
Today
is 21st April, civil services day, a day to cherish , to mark the contribution
of civil servants who relentlessly do their best to make a better civic life
for all of us...we are too wannabe or some of us already there to impact the
service ethos...thanks to Max weber for theorizing steel frame which is bound
to be in practice for generations to come..yes, ethos, ways of service
deliveries may be changing as our society progresses...once I was ruminating
over why civil servants collectively fail in most of cases? Why work culture is
so in abysmal condition- why are they arrogant, snobbish, supercilious and
frown upon poor citizens? Why is there a case of just passing few exams and one
becoming de facto reluctant custodians of public goods who mostly exploit the
power to grind their own axes? I find a
common denominator in all such cases a lack of sense of ownerships on part of
civil servants as well as citizen, hangover of colonial feeling of being part
of ruling dispensation, lack of fear to be sued by people or leviathan judicial
machineries, disengaged civil society, lack of people aspirations to be
demanding, most of people don't pay tax so lack Moral ground to show tax
nationalism albeit they should have high Morales due to just social contract
they have undergone with state........here there is classic case of tragedy of
commons(public goods), beggars can't be choosers( putting for perspective not to
hurt janta janardan)........yes, now increasing case of alternative development
paradigm is emerging due to increased role of private n global agencies,
technologies, so, in most of cases governments cant be repositories of wisdom,
knowledge to be governed for better lives....so, now when we are to be part of
civil services we need to dwell seriously how can still we be relevant n even
more when still a big number look upon government for most of their
needs.....sardar Patel must have given similar thought on 21-04-1947 while
addressing the first civil servant batch to take command after
independence.....
22nd April- World Earth Day
22nd April is celebrated as "Earth
Day" to mark the increasing importance of preserving the environment,
resources and a natural ecological balance in/on/around the earth...our
development efforts have exploited earth like anything bringing in present alarming situation. We call earth as mother n
taking advantage of that relation we took her guranted. In this context
ecofeminst Vandana Shiva in her "Emptying Earth" aptly puts the way
ppl have exploited women similar treatment is being subjected to the mother
Earth...The conspicuous consumption ethos have damaged unprecedentedly. The
saying of "need of more than two earths to meet the pace of American
consumerist tendency for whom world" should be taken seriously. The
ecological overshoot day or ecological debt day is shrinking towards mid July
or even closer, the duration of a year for which earth regenerates resources to
meet our need for ensuing year...so, alarming call to economise our consuming
culture else the water war like situation is on brink as Brahma chellany, a
global strategic thinker in his new book "Water, Peace, and War:
Confronting the Global Water Crisis " rightly puts.....Further, it's not
unwarranted to mention the conflict owing to "resource curse" in
middle East n African regions causing a human distress for whole world...Here,
also the African(Kenyan) proverb "We do not inherit the Earth from our
ancestors, we borrow it from our Children" to be put to indicate Gandhian
sustainability view.....can we take pledge today on our individual level not to be disillusioned by others consumerist
behaviours, glorification of gluttony food habits ( ate whole night chicken at
room n in morning went to Kareem to continue the mission, a poor vegie friend
followed the wolves only..😀😜)? Can we pledge to create awareness for even
smaller habits of energy savings? Yes, we can n must if yesterday we celebrated
civil services day to dedication this life for better cause.....😀😀
23rd April: World Book Day
23rd April, is marked by the UNESCO as
the world book day... For bibliophile it may be day of celebration to
cherish the undulating love reader develops...i personally feel I can really
live a good part of my life in companionship of some of good book....To mark
death anniversary of W. Shakespeare, whose contribution to classic literature
is immense, UNESCO celebrates the day to inculcate reading culture....i
remember in school days we used to be given to write essay on "my
favourite book"...i used to write Ramcharitmanas which I hadn't read
beyond some textbook poems but the awareness that it portrayed Ram as an ideal
character ,used to be our themes , mostly abstract but when I read 'Godan' , i
realized how a literature can be truly
fulfilling..the melodrama imbued with love, sensuality, domestic violence,
poverty at extreme, rural ambience, betrayal n profound narratives, samvad with
animal etc were so vivid, i was completely immersed in character. Sometimes
felt pity for Gobar, sometimes for Dhunia n sometimes ecstatic sense of love ❤,
a true rollercoaster of life reality......i always love to turn few pages of
newer books, sadly i don't complete most of them....recently new habit of book
review gives me essence of newer books on various themes give me a sense of
having intellectual touch but i wish to read them in full.....the ere of E-book
has diminished the love for books whose paper smell keep reader awakened,
inebriated with seductive narratives as i started my move reading journey in
English with Chetan bhagat books which most of small town boys do in their
sophomore years......now i hardly read novel but try to read every review of
non-fiction having multiple themes.....books r really going to be life time
friends when so long spell of life is spent to understand basics of almost all
disciplines...thus cse prep ll help chose nooks in future from eclectic
themes....cheers book day...😀😍
24th April- Constitution, Cricket & Idea of democracy
I love to commemorate each day which has imprinted
indelible mark in our history impacting culture, ideas, democratic ethos. On
this line today , 24th April, I would like to highlight three occasions,
firstly to mark birthday 🎂 of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar whose
contribution to popular indian culture I.e. cricket is indisputable, secondly
on the same date 24.04.1973 , the landmark keshwanand Bharti case who shaped
the very idea of Indian constitution unprecedentedly paving the way for rock
foundation of basic structure; thirdly, we must also celebrate the local self
government day, panchayati raj system enforced on 24.04.1993 , brought democracy at door step of
people.......all these three have common denominator in terms of widening the
space of idea of India n Indians.....Modern historian Dr. Ramchandra Guha in
context of Tendulkar says that no other than Gandhi ji has so pan India acceptance transcending any of
identity barrier...I may not buy this idea for longer but yes his contribution
to Indian cricket ll be at front forever, geniuses are bound to born in every
generation...Period.....😀😬😁
Cow: Political Kamdhenu
We all are well aware about the cow 🐮 buzz shrilling all around. Political commentators are rallying for
inclusion of "cow is a political animal instead of domestic one" in
school textbooks to let children acquaint since their formative age sipping cow
milk in place of colostrum filled mother milk after all cow is too mother.
Presently, increased vigour for Kamdhenu is not only to restore the glory of Bhagirath, who got gift from Indra for his herculean effort of bringing The Ganges to the earth; perhaps PM Modi to revive Ganges glory by unprecedented Ganga clean drive is to do same and hence again putting Cow at centre. Or is it to do something with increase concern for environmental ethics hypothesized around "GAIA Theory " sounding like Gay(cow) which emphasized on our utmost duty toward flora and fauna for not their survival but for ours.
Upsc aspirants may be ruminating over "economics of animal rearing" beyond its economics to invoke more political economy in the age of increasing cultural entrepreneurship and R&D over Manu mandated dictums to compete with Adam Smith induced capital world.
Further, an armed force, Gau Rakshak Dal is already in place wandering in nook and corner to witch hunt under the Cultural AFSPA emanating saffron(kesar milk, symbol of force as saffron revolution claims). I see if there is any animal really getting protection without Project cow then it is cow again without being national symbol like tiger.
Also, finding of "Go vigyanshala" based in deolapar village, Nagpur , a national laboratory of cow, I am lucky to be there during my college days and see entire set up, has also been increasingly startling to confound even the best of scientific findings. Let there the feminine cow enjoy her glory when her male counterparts are maltreated, really a very paradoxical case for patriarch Manu manufactured ideology.

Extending meaning of Engineering
Happy Engineers day to all of you, a mild reminder
to all engineers who have left the profession in literal sense but still hold
the ethos of being engineers...it's good to see the various forms of
engineering is coming up hitherto not so much in discourse. Social engineers ,
political engineers , economic engineers, cultural engineers and what not are
now becoming more vocal in all walks...the very idea of engine is not confined
to hardware but permeating towards socioeconomic ware. Only need is to uphold
the sanctity of engineering ethics which looks for impassioned reasoning rather
being fraught with narrow outlooks. Some of political entrepreneurs did use
their skills to engineer society and ensured better bargaining power as Dr
Ambedkar for Dalits, Nelson Mandela for apartheid etc. However, the present
trend of hijacking culture by some of assertive big organisations by deploying
violent "polytechnic cultural machonics or electrucians " like
gaurakshaks or senas is definitely very much worrisome. They are the same who
vindicate bane part in the debate of
"science(engineering) is boon or bane". Now there is
ever increased need to finesse the engineering analytical skills, tools
to devise better socioeconomic machineries for betterment of society. Hardware
engineers have given so much comforting ecology , why can't socio- software engineers to do same for better socio-cultural ecology.😀
Marriage, a moment of excitement or anxiety
Most of our friends are getting married 💑. Now a days marriage word
intimidates me because of underpinned responsibilities come up with it. You
loose your 'negative freedom' but yes
dimension of 'positive freedom' increases in terms of familial duties which
help increase bigger responsibilities u once desired to take. We, in indian society, take marriage as a very
sacrosanct institution because of trust we pose in it. It opens a new vista to
let you feel true human in terms of running a family as an institution a
microcosm of bigger institution like state. Marriage is such an uaed/ misused
word since our childhood that in every second instance we invoke it, like I ll marry u with that jumbo lady or
that nose blowing fellow if u ll not comply me. Such instances we heard/faced
since our childhood but as we grew , we became conscious about this. I think we
in general as a conservative(our
uniqueness) indian society always keep marriage at highest pedestal n that is
why we are quite possessive about our preferences. It is another matter our
preferences also change as we develop n get broader picture of humanity/society. However, common observation
I make whenever we fall in love, we think about marriage but we forget that our
communitarian Indian values see marriage not an individual act. Its multilayerd
process which culminates wen each stakeholders too get wedded with
corresponding one. Chetan Bhagat in his "Two States" righty writes in
India boy likes girl n vice-versa, boy's
family likes girl's family n vice-versa, then there takes place a
consensus based, sustainable n democratic marriage 💑. Yes, it is ensured entire process be imbued by love, mutual respect
n innumerable traditional ceremonial steps. Yes, there have been many
degenerations n hence a lot of undesirable development to trivialize marriage
as a sacred institution. However, good development is in terms of permutation n
combination of mechanism like love cum arrange, arrange cum love, only arrange,
only love, inter/intra caste, religion, ethnicity, race, linguistic, then
hetro/homo, celibacy, divorce decision to be alone at later stage of life.
Nevertheless, noone can escape the marriage n in fact we as an "adult in
shaping" always keep on dreaming consciously or subconsciously about it. I
wonder what would be going in one's mind who is about to take. I recall in childhood
I was quite shy( n still I am) n used to think how will I perform all
ceremonies before everyone, ye mujhse na ho payega sort. Now wen I see my
friends are doing easily, I too can( media v bula lunga😄)... Anyway, even without feeling the moment I can sense that couple in making would have a lot of
dreams to live lives ahead very beautifully..
PINK, A colour of Feminism
I loved the movie not only for the maverick message but also for high
voltage ⚡ cinematic focus. Our human history has not been as
much kind as it seems. From feministic point of view the waves of women rights
took a long path, from civil political rights in the form of adult franchisee
to socioeconomic rights to assertion of cultural rights it took three protracted long struggle. Our
indian women may be lucky in context of
at least first two waves but the last one
is going to be too long. After all the control on sexuality is the last shot in
patriarchal prostate. It's true that hobbesian state came after society but
what to do with this society which is so cruel n male centric. Can law be a precursor to cleanse the
societal malice when forces from within is impotent. Can we keep this sexually unequal society for any longer in
continuance by just painting with moral
brushes? Third wave is going to be very strong, not to be confined only to scoop the rights as men enjoy alone but they are
going to validate "yoshitah Kim na kurvanti" i.e. What women cant
do?(means they can do everything) . Is not the biggest burden of bearing child
on them is now on the way of putting them with upper hand by IVF or now by
surrogacy surge on ride? In the PINK, when Falak said, yes, we took money from
those brats for soliciting them, then I couldn't imagine that Mr Sehgal ll come
up with new tenet of basic structure of
"NO" means "NO" only in Bharti judgement mode. NO theory
would be henceforth played very
dramatically in married life when wife with her NO remote ll keep on switching
her husband on n off. Now, Should not
masculine mind devise something which
could reinstate its lost control on sex life. Incidentally, I came to know
meaning of PINK is not what we think as
'girlish colour' or similar
but it is very different- forced
and often cruel or threat based occupation of a V*** by an unwelcome
P***...😀
KK , first day as PF commissioner trainee
Guys, our friend Krishna Kumar Rai (first time
many of you may be knowing his full name..😜) is starting a new journey of his life as an
officer trainee. He is already so much aware about true concept of social
security that Academic training will mostly give only right theoretical
wordings to his vast grassroot knowledge.
This new responsibility n opportunity are going to be immense for him.
On lighter note, in recent visit of his home area, many of his colleagues asked
him what he could do for them, he told you all would get placed soon. That's
hope raised among jobless region of
Bihar... This may sound little bit awkward from weberian legal rationality
point of view but after all this theorization was for a well developed
differentiated western society. We are a
Prismatic society of Indian uniqueness in Riggsian note where there must
be compassionate administration and hence subaltern approach of
"ethical-moral legal rationality". Coming on new journey, I wish you
all the best for the new step, a step for yourself, family 👪, society n country. Have a balanced approach in personal n
professional life, be organised n do use the academy period fullest vis a vis own health, curricular participation, n over all
personality development. Each day must be well lived with new vigor n apt planning. In student life we keep on
accumulating self -promises without executing, so a new opportunity to start
freshly. N also streamline each of learning n spent moment towards your higher
goal for which you have been
putting ur sincere efforts. This new
assignment will give you enough time to think which ll help you restrategize
your approach. May God bless you brother, you are a guy of strength, gut, grit n gumption. I always feel a comfortness n a sense of emotional security
in your company. Perhaps, we may not gel as usual n casual as frequently which
we had here n in college since last a
decade...especially Delhi stay. All d best.(nostalgia overflowing 😭😀)
Gandhi Jayanti,2nd October
It would be injustice to Gandhian legacy , if he is not written on his
birthday. Perhaps he is one of the most talked or written about in the human
history. That's why he fits in all 'ism'. There is hardly any area untouched of him. His work, philosophy and
idea are so much overpowering, visionary n inclusive that he would be relevant
for ages to come. Today's mantras/buzzwords as sarvodaya, bottom up,
decentralization, unto the last, Swaraj, Suraj n even Ramrajya(thanks to
present govt😀) , all are so much relevant that the present age
is being touted as "Revisit of Gandhian era". Perhaps he is only
historical figure equally embraced by all ideological wings despite if and buts
in his legacy. We say Hindu is a religion having attributes of all, Gandhi as
an idea too seem to be permeating all ideologies. Yes, he too had a corner of
darkness as various contemporaries point out. Dr Ambedkar found him violating
his Varna/jati dharma, being vaishya, he
must be following it. But, wasn't
he social or politics or ideological entrepreneur? He bequeathed so vast socio-political n
ideological legacy , may be not very much tangible but immensely intangible.
Today we do find his image on Indian currency as mark of respect but what would
be better tribute to a man coming from Bania clan albeit he would have never
approved for so. Marxist M.N.Roy accused him of running most of the time in
viceroy corridor for appointment. But, who can
demean the historical importance of his Irwin talk. British was so
frightened , envied n disgruntled of this 'naked fakir draped in lion clothe'
that on reporting about severity of Bengal famine by his official Winston
Churchil sarcastically wondered why dint
Gandhi die despite so sever famine. An insensitive n cruel remark! Oho! I forgot
about whom I am talking , almost repetition of my school days assignment of
changing a negative sentence to assertive one, "who doesn't know
Gandhi"? (answer used to be "everyone knows Gandhi"). I wonder
anyone would be cutting cake on Gandhiji's birthday , I can't, 2 days before I
had.😀 One of my dearest friend, an Ambedkarite by heart
had it once on 14th April in ORN. 😀 . Lastly,
today's is " non violence" day what a feat left by Gandhiji , a most
needed idea of today's world.
SDG- Sustainable Development Goal
A POOR man with his son and daughter goes to a clinic where doctor receives them well and finding them HUNGARY offers food. Later , doctor checks up their HEALTH and tell them to take rest near by in waiting room where son finds a magazine to READ but daughter does not, what an INEQUALITY and rather father sends her to bring CLEAN WATER. Being heavily tired they sleep there only. In morning they find brightening SUNLIGHT ENERGY is falling on them. They wake up an go for some WORK outside but this menial job din`t pay them much so sought for INNOVATION in infrastructure n environment to help them earn more. However, this couldn't accrue them much and hence ECONOMIC INEQUALITY could not subside much. They , then, left for a CITY believing it ll be self sustained place but there was cruel CONSUMING pattern. Also, there was pollution n bad CLIMATE CONDITION. Nevertheless , new in city, they went near by sea coast at evening to see the aquatic beauty but WATER LIFE was not as they imagined. They just got in deep thought how even life un water is not safe as it is not on LAND. They became disillusioned and sought some INSTITUTIONS FOR JUSTICE . And for this they thought to seek GLOBAL COOPERATION. This is story of 17 Sustainable Development Goals in capital fonts.
Quantum conundrum
There has always been tussle between subjectivity -objectivity, fact-value, science-mysticism for occupying the centre stage for having determiner role in discourse. While objectivity boasts of its focus in quantified form, subjectivity claims for its reality in crude form. Of course this tussle is not like capitalism vs socialism where capitalism won the war. It's a conflict between visible and invisible. I find , the present era of scientific visibility has overpowered human consciousness and number, digit, quantity etc are ruling the roost. There is rush for being counted in each and every act. And, this has in turn oversimplified life creating bubble. The number game has crated a mad rush. Countries are desperate to occupy rank in HDI, Corruption perception Index, Ease of doing business ranking, GDI,GII n 'n' number of similar indices.Rating Agencies are dictating policies, steering the socioeconomic life of nations. They just put some parameters and decide quantum fate of country which have multiplex repercussions. The mirage of number can be seen everywhere from TIMES, FORBES, FORTUNE ranking for billionaires to global intellectuals to most wanted terrorist to most desirable woman. Top 10, 100 and sometimes 500 are glorified in such a manner as if 11, 101 n 501 have no equal value. I am trying to emphasize so because the mirage of number has made people mechanical ,digital. Your opinion about someone ll change just with a number. If she is 5'3", 26 year old in place of ur prejudices of "the best" 5'5", 25 year old, you may have very different opinion about her. Similarly you may see a an IAS aspirant with 4th attempts very differently from 2nd or 3rd attempt. Thanks God people don't see differently for late UID number. I find such "numeral nautanki" very unnatural from Indianness point of view, the very "0" of ours signify it. It's called zero , nul, nil, naught, cypher. If all are not equal, at least we must recognize differences n give due regard.
25th December-Good Governance Day
Critics may allege the celebration of Good Governance day on 25th December is to defy the increasing dominance of X-mas. For Hindu Right Wing in particular and nationalist in general who take a lot of pride in indian culture find such development an eyesore. However, true indian culture should be the one which be always in evolution and doesn't adhere any one value . Still real question comes every year end when people go gaga for new year unlike in chaitra. Is it to do something with declining importance of agriculture, a prime determiner of year end and start. Has the overpowering onslaught of westoxication made people frenzy for such new development or it's natural embracing of occidentosis? I pity on our loosening cultural root. Truth is that primordial identities like culture can always be disputed as it invokes passion, emotions, belief systems but modern identities like good governance should be indisputable. Yes, its orientation, mechanism and origin can always be questioned buy ethos of maximal goodness, transparency, people participation, rule of law etc should be brought fullest in our governance paradigm
Indian National Congress Day
Today Indian National Congress completes its 131 years of journey. It's perhaps the oldest surviving political party on the earth. Noone can dispute its contribution in freedom struggle. From safety valve to conducting rod to a coterie of "bourgeoisie Brahmins", it earned many sobriquets. It rose from a pressure group to prominent political party to become unchallengeable "Congress system".Ideologically it calls itself left of centre, that's why it tries to accommodate subaltern forces. But Its state led socialistic emphasis, minority appeasement policy, politics of poverty are alleged to perpetuate "povertarianism" in words of Shekhar Gupta. Its politics of patronage kept subaltern population dependent on the state , that's why poor states with maximum political participation for getting doles, freebies etc. Later this trend got institutionalised in Indian political system. Further, this party of consensus couldn't tame the pulsating centrifugal forces like regionalism, secessionism, linguistic jingoism, casteism after demise of Pt Nehru. Later on a number of more unintended consequences popped up for good or bad reasons. Here, decentralization of political process, rise of coalition, emergence of identity plus politics, as yogendra Yadav calls it "democratic upsurge" like development are in line of diverse ethos of indian reality after decimation of INC. The identity crisis, it entered into, after last election, is yet on and unable to see any lantern in its dark political tunnel. INC, in past, mostly thrived on charismatic leadership which kept on melting since Nehru. UPA period saw its nadir which got materialised in 16th LS election. The emotional hangover of its contribution in freedom struggle is hardly left. Its scions have already grossly misappropriated the legacy to perpetuate its political dynasty. Present leadership crisis in it in the presence of strong leadership in regional and other national parties further aggravate its miserable situation. It needs to cleanse at all level -from inner democracy to ideological mooring as per changing aspiration of people to grassroot political nourishment. The right wing forces are at its peak throughout the world due to increasing identity consciousness ,so to moderate extreme forces centrists must come at fore to present a strong and constructive opposition. In this context the most sought after 'development call' should not be confined only to economic aspects as right wingers emphasize upon at the cost of multiculturalism but should be holistic, multidimensional and inclusive recognizing all sort of differences.
A Reflection on Independence Day
Friends,Happy Independence day...we cherish this day every year to mark our forefathers' struggles, sacrifices they gave to consolidate the scattered lands into a subcontinent of today's size. When I go through our history, I feel how painful evolution there would be not to get only political independence from outsiders but also to liberate various suppressed identities Vis a Vis societal ostracization.
We may flip through 200 yrs of subjugation in few hundred pages but narratives run deeper. I wonder how our land of innumerable diversities is today not only politically united but also biopolitically. I thank nationalists whether pseudo or real for portraying our land as Bharatmata embracing everyone in her lap.
Today I want to dwell upon meaning of "Independence". Is it to do with unrestrained freedom or restrained one or a freedom which conforms other freedom too? Perhaps we all will agree to Rawlsion notion of veil of ignorance to zero down to restrained freedom but ironically it is itself oxymoron. After all what should be limit, should the constitutional guidelines suffice which itself is subjected to multiple interpretations and directed as per juridical whims and fancies, though not always?
Further, are we independent of our self-obsessed growth marginalizing others? Why people are still hapless and dependent on so called mainstream society or government for their well being say for tribals, Dalits and all such sections who are left behind just because parameters set to judge is out of their contexts. Isn't it the same way foreigners intruded our land n started to impose their norms, here only difference is projected that we mainstream folks are insiders and we all belong to this sacred land but truth is we all are settlers except aboriginals? Here I am not trying to vindicate foreigners rule who too contributed in uniting us though it happened as unintended consequences. I am just emphasizing how we are not different in many sense from our past rulers who exploited majority.
Why are we not compassionate in true sense and still our policies are to make a big population dependent on government? We always shrug off these issues saying we are democracy of large populations and newly independent one growing amidst myriad of diversities. Bur if we folk of haves brigade think over these issues , we ll realize how selfish, self-centred we are. We want perpetual security of ours and don't want to share more than charity. Ironically we justify it saying this is the law of nature survival of fittest.
Coming back to mark our independence, we must come out of comfort zone and redefine it meaningfully to create an inclusive society. We must come out of ritual notion and share our space for others. I know no one ll buy this utopian construct but if we think for a moment we ll realize how cruel, insensitive, greedy we are and rushing in dark calling it growth/ development and way of true living.
Can we pledge today to change the way we are living and understanding meaning of independence? Yes, we can and infact we want but we all are victim of peer group and megalomaniac materialistic way of ideological life styles.

love spree continuing
Right from the birth a child is treated with much love & affection and though we never realize but love becomes one of our basic necessity to lead a peaceful and happy life. Being born and brought up in a culture where we are told about the stories of Lord Krishna and his lady love Radha, the belief and faith in this emotion develops right from formative years. And every parent tries to inculcate this feeling by always advising their children to treat everyone with respect, love and affection. And when we enter the youth, the attraction towards opposite sex becomes quite obvious.Nobody has ever been able to perfectly define this feeling as everyone has his own perspective about it. But in my opinion the truest and most unadulterated form of love is what we call as mother's love but to put another example, I also admire the love which we could see among the elderly couples, the affection and care which they have, the understanding which has developed by spending the most part of their life together.
I guess being in love is not the first stage as there's nothing called love at first sight. You might get attracted towards someone because of his/her personality but to stay in love you need much more than just the pretty face. In my opinion respect, value and trust are the key words. Unless you have these feelings you can't fall for a person. And to find your perfect one, just believe at your conscience and your heart will guide you through.
Everyone of us might have felt or would feel this bliss some day.😀😀

A Sustainable Lovelihood
Love making is perhaps one of the most pleasant, sensual activity invented by man. This love can be in any form transcending the familial relationship. Mother -child love is considered the most pious, selfless, untendered. Here, I try to bring out various facets of romantic love ❤ developed between young boys and girls. We in our formative age develop love consciousness, our preferences, likes and dislikes for wannable partners. All these things are shaped by peer learnings which we get from movies, nearby romantic couples or some fiction or real life stories. In most of the cases love making conditionings are quite glamorous or if not it's made by literary fantasy. So we grow seeing /listening/reading such ideal love conditions. Even poignant love circumstances are put in such a way that we want to be these protagonists because ending is mostly very pleasantly satisficing as movies like DIL, TITANIC, KYAMAT SE KYAMAT TAK, or fictions like 'I too had love story' or some cases of honour killings etc. All such fictious or real instances raise the question of nature of love making. Do girls like only prince in her dream or they just fall in love and make that individual prince? Or ,do they search prince firstly and then make love? Off course same questions hold for boys too. My observation so far is that love is mostly depicted very piously where anyone can be prince or queen of the special one. Here, bringing the Marxian materialism will be unwarranted. A Rajkumar can be king 👑 of non-material part with his good heart, high moral, integrity, loyalty, sincerity like values. Now, perhaps glamorisation/materialization of everything has blinded people which we see in the form of exchange of highly priced gift, fat wedding, dowry. Girls measure boys' depth of pocket and boys measure the quantum of fortune girls can bring with them. In this context, yes, Marxists' observations are still relevant. There is increasing capitalist call in which true love is being pissed and every move has become victim of filthy materialism. But, I also do recognise the very idea of love can not be lived only in vacuum or by cooking words, it must be manifested by sprinkling colours in it in the form of including material aspects as one look for exotic honeymoon destination but again extravaganza, conspicuosness should not mar the idea of middle path guided by Buddhist economics as espoused by Schumacher in his "SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL"....
Digitised Emotion
Digitised Emotions--------
Seldomly anyone will disagree with the the fact that our ever increased entanglement with a parallel cyber world vis-a vis our day to day interaction has put us simultaneously in two different worlds. Now we have almost everything in this virtual world which we have in our real world from financial stake to security concern to sociopolitical life to cultural call. This in turn has developed a well knit community, multiple peer groups and various clubs to diversify our outreach and connection as we see ourselves at whatsApp or facebook or twitter. So, a sort of replication of everything which we hav in real world.
Most of us end up spending a big share of our available time on these social media or interacting at virtual institutions in terms of banking, shopping , playing games, seeking entertainment ,socializing clandestinely or openly. So, the moot question is whether our behaviour too has got digitised or standardised or in other words, have our emotional expression, body language, gesticulations and so on too become quite mechanical set in few emoticons or emojis?
Incidently, emoji is Japanese word where 'e' means picture and 'moji' means character which resembles with the English portmanteau emoticon(emotion+icon). While i was reading about "post-truth" as the most used word of 2016 as per the Oxford dictionary, out of curiosity, I moved to similar status of 2015,ccoincidentally it was "emoji". Thus, it depicts the quantum of its usage in our daily usage.
"😂" (khushi k anshu ) was the most used emoji. We may have 'n' number of such emojis or figurative gesture to express ourselves but, can it truly depict in full sense what we mean to convey that moment. The very human idiosyncrasy is unique , it has umpteen expressions each depicting a different set of emotional story. But, our efforts to digitize emotions in few emojis may be oversimplification. It tries to standardise human emotion, expression across the culture, language, territorial distinctiveness, race, religion. Do we have different mode of expression of crying or laughing or showing smouldering face or frowning? No. So, such standardization effort is not unwarranted. While laughing one is bound to show teeth, while crying one has to moist one's eyes, and if a beauty passes nearby, one is tempted to blink ones eyes. Similarly, in case of sending kiss, one is automatized to roll down red betel sign from 'mukhdwar'. However, problem arises in this emoticon world when our communication increasingly gets shrunk.
We many a times don't express well and hide behind emojis or the very available emojis are unable to express well.
Post colonialist or post modernist observers may find these emojis to be ethnocentric depicting these as mostly products developed world life. But do we have expressions of our own peculiarity conveying emotional messages of third and fourth world society? If not, how do we go about it. Therefore, before our emotions get confined in few emojis ,don't we need to diversify in ample number bringing it closer to real expressions? Yes,We do need.

A reflection on Bahubali
Famous Filmmaker RGV says Bahubali is going to be a watershed moment in the history of Indian filmmaking. He has gone on to saying like berth of jesus divide human history in BC &AD, similarly Bahubali is going to divide filmmaking history in BB&AB...Before n After Bahubali....He may try to sound prophetic n we may not buy his value judgement but perhaps none of us will dispute the unprecedented impact Bahubali has left on the cine psyche in terms of quality of technical deft, grandeur it brings on screen, hype for last half a decade -very unprecedented in Indian popular culture.....Media reporting says that some of protagonists n antagonists had devoted half a decade of their careers in this project....it is definitely an eye opening for most of Bollywood's high grossing but built in few days movies....why Bollywood ,catering more than 80% of Indian population, can't make such magnum opus like Bahubali? Some preliminary reasons surface up like here superstars hav so high allurement from various offers that they can't devot this much time, secondly they have rush for date releasing rush like Eid, diwali, so pressure to meet deadline to capture market, they find easy money by volume wise so why to put efforts as in past like Lagan, Shole, Border... It's true that time, efforts, willingness n a greater good sacrifice are very much needed as we see in james Cameron work but, are our film industry is meticulous in terms of bringing innovation, infusion of qualitative technology....its is said Bahubali1's waterfall scene creation n interwoven acts took one third time of whole filmmaking... The very development of such movie gives a lot of learning for generations to come across the career spectrum, patience is key, innovation is to put one at edge, vision inspires civilization to cut cross status quoism, meticulousness brings hope for relentless qualitative effort, and faith in leadership brings best out of team........Rajamouli's humility and open mindedness were at best when he answered the question - why did he not think to cash in the brand of Bahubali by making more sequel? He told, " I can't elongate it unnecessarily just to cash in the momentum when I m well convinced that I have presented my story in toto. But , yes he did say that the world of Bahubali ll be seen in comics, game fiction, cartoon.......Having said so, i m well convinced this cine epic is going to be the case study of B-schools n a lot of learnings for mainstream filmmakers.......
A reflection on " Menstural Hygiene Day " marked on 28th may
In few casual conversation with my friends about whether temple entry of mensturating women, or performing house chores by them or participating in mahamritunjay jaap should be allowed or not. In all these discussions, thoough I summarily advocate for the dignity of an individual over anything else whether culture, tradition, or ritual practice. I always believe that culture , religion, social practices etc are reflection of our level of human development, so as we advance ,our socioculture practices should too organically evolve at pace of time and material and spiritual development. Earlier we were afraid of furry of nature, so animism but now to much extent we have tamed it as per our comfort. In past we were amazed seeing what a "linga" and "yoni" can do to sustain our existence, so we worshiped and still we are worshiping to continue tradition. And, the very notion of purity like only non-menstural women should be allowed to enter temple or any sacred place had some ground of ignorance and lack of material wherewithal to aptly prevent secretion of mensturating fluid which could have allegedly impure the site. The hyppcricy of bleeding goddess like in Kamakhya temple or yoni puja raise doubt over any rationality of making period as ground to marginalize women. Do we have similar check to prevent men cladded in profusly night fallen clothe? Now , when a lot of material sophistication in terms of 'silicon cup' and 'sanitary pad' have come up to obscure any bloody stain which lowers down her confidence, is it still relevant to practice the mensturalized ostracization? We frown upon a lady stained with blood but hardly try to undetstand how much this cycle is as natural as our running nose in case of periodic cold when we dont have control on our nostrial fluid. The very attached stigma with mensturation has spill over impact in terms of women's marginalization. People prevent menstural women from touching pickle apprehending it may turn sour, doesnt this superstition will give way for witchcraft or similar omenous sobriquet to them? In jain community the lady is said to sleep on floor even in chilling cold during this period or to stay away without doing any work. So, the very need to augment the sex education's space becomes inevitable to promote a healthy sociocultural practice ensuring its just a natural call as we have 'n' number of liquid-air-solid secreting natural call. Every body is temple or like any worship place which must be seen in absolute term rather through old cultural lenses. We must practice objective, scientific way for healthy menstural upkeep as in terms of using biodegradble sanitary napkin and easy purchase of it from store and a system of vending napkin as Kerala govt has mandated in secondary schools. On the similar line, the effort of a delhi based ngo "Goonj"founder and Raman Magasasy awardee Anshu Gupta should not go without mention. I met him during my college days when he came to address us in social conferenence held at Baba Amte's Anand Van. The story ,he told, was very poignant , heart touching-about a rural lady who used cow dung ashes to sustain menstural period instead of sanitary napkin or any cloth, it was a normal practice there. One unfateful day she used a torn old hooked blouse for the same which became the reason of her tetanus inflicted death. Mr Gupta perhaps got inspiration from there to collect clothe to process these for low cost sanitary pad. We need more such social entreprenuership to amoeliorate life conditioning of poor folks by socil innovation. The upcoming Akshay Kumar starred movie"PAD MAN" should help bring more awareness regarding menstural mayhem to let people accept it easily giving "period period" a normal biological period.
